The evergreen tree near the Reformed Church parsonage was struck by lightning last Saturday afternoon. It is interesting to note that this tree was planted some forty-five years ago by the Rev. John Dubois, who was pastor here for about thirteen years. Many of our older people remember the planting (John G. Gray, in his history of the Town notes the pastorate of Rev. John Dubois “1866 – 1874.”
