This week, the New York court system announced at least 14 positive COVID cases among Orange County court employees.

On Thursday, January 6, the state court system announced that two employees with Orange County’s Surrogate Court (30 Park Place, Goshen) tested positive. They were last in the courthouse on January 5 and January 6, respectively.

The day prior, January 5, the court system had been notified that a different employee with Orange County Surrogate Court had also tested positive, and also was in on January 5.

Over at Orange County Court (285 Man Street, Goshen), there were three cases of COVID-19 reported among staffers on January 5: one who was last in the courthouse January 4, another who was in on December 30, 2021, and a third employee who had not been in the courthouse since December 23, 2021.

On January 4, the court system reported one positive case among an Orange County Court staffer who was last in on December 30,2021, another who was last in on December 22, and another who had last been in on December 21.

On January 3, the court system reported one positive case involving an Orange County Court employee who was last in on that same day, January 3, and another case among an employee last in on December 30. That same day, the state also announced a case among an Orange County Family Court (285 Main Street, Goshen) employee who had last worked December 30.

On January 2, the court system was alerted to a positive case at Orange County Family Court among an employee who was last in attendance December 23rd.

And on January 1, the court system heard of a positive case at Orange County Surrogate Court. That employee was last in attendance on December 30.

That makes for a total of at least 14 employees with the Orange County Court system reported as testing positive for COVID since the New Year began. In all the reported cases, the state noted that cleaning protocols and contract tracing notifications were being made.
