Over the past few months, the surrounding area saw multiple houses sold for over $1 million, each with their unique and tantalizing features.

The Shawangunk Journal took a peek at some of the most enticing, elegant, expensive homes that are in the hands of new owners to give you an idea of what’s hot in the local real estate realm. You might want to grab a napkin to soak up the drool after seeing some of these properties.

High Falls Horse Palace

A luxurious family estate, furnished modernly but filled with rustic, country features, sold for $2,375,000 at 1955 Lucas Turnpike, in High Falls, this April, according to Berkshire Hathaway Homeservices Nutshell Realty, which represented the seller. This combined 8,520-square-foot complex came with seven bedrooms and eight-and-a-half bathrooms on a 108-acre property.

We hope the new owner brought some hooved friends to fill the meadow and four-stall horse barn, equipped with a wash station and heated tack room. This massive property features an array of well-groomed walking trails near the Rondout Creek, an organic vegetable garden, and even a chicken coop to fuel a farm-fresh breakfast. There are even historic traces of the Delaware & Hudson Canal and towpath, built between 1825 and 1828.
