We soaked up the summer-like weather at the beginning of November and many of us wished for it to last just a little longer, but reality cannot be avoided. It's time to get ready for the chilling, sometimes brutal cold of winter. Heavier coats, fleece hats, and even insulated boots are being pulled out of our closets, off shelves, and from labeled bins in the basement. But not everyone may be prepared for the harsh weather ahead.

New beginnings Church of the Hudson Valley, with Senior Pastor Camergie McComb at the helm, will be working to warm the communities of Ellenville, Newburgh, and Poughkeepsie this Saturday, November 19^th, from 12 to 2 p.m. There will be a supply of basic winter gear, such as hats, scarves, gloves, coats, socks, and other types of clothing free to the public. The outreach team at New Beginnings is ready to serve individuals and families who are in need of these items. No signup is necessary just come and get what you need.

New Beginnings has been doing outreach ministry for many years in Ellenville and surrounding communities, serving hot meals, holding annual sneaker drives, back-to-school bashes and other help to the community under the leadership of overseer, Pastor Dhasan McComb, husband to Camergie McComb.

Another budding ministry specifically for highschoolers is Royal Robes. “The Royal Robes Outreach Ministry will be giving away prom dresses and tuxedos in March of 2023 to high school graduates and we’re asking for donations between now and then,” McComb intreated. She desires to see students who want to attend their prom but may not be able to purchase an outfit, have what they need to make it happen.
