Stepping Stone, a production company and wellness center in Rosendale, is holding auditions for its house band, World Piece, starting Tuesday November 22.

The company is looking for local drummers, guitarists, bass guitarists, keyboardists, violinists, vocalists and saxophone players to fill out a band of 15 players, plus guest performers. All members can be involved with lead and/or backup vocals.

Key band members will be paid for shows along with one compensated hour in the studio for every performance. Members will also enjoy 50% off Stepping Stone products and services, which include music performances, artistic lessons and workshops, wellness sessions and goods. And players in the band will get free Stepping Stone merchandise.

Stepping Stone opened in 2021 with owner Joseph McIntyre at the helm. He intended it to be a space for new, emerging and established artists to both exhibit their work and explore their craft further. It’s a hub for lower-budget film projects and off-Broadway productions, and a space to foster mental health and creativity all in one.

Their space at 446 Main Street in Rosendale hosts monthly resident artists. This month, Laura Leigh, a fine artist and musician from New Paltz, took the stage and her artwork, compiled in “The Blue Show” can be viewed by appointment.

Stepping Stone is also home to a recording studio for artists or bands to rent out, and their PA system can be transported to gigs.

There are always new projects and events in store at Stepping Stone — there is an Artists’ Saloon in the works and much more. Keep up with it all at steppingstonenewyork.com.

Rehearsal and promotion for World Piece are set to begin on Wednesday, January 11, so if you’d like to audition, send Stepping Stone a direct message via Instagram @steppingstone.ny. You can also reach Stepping Stone at 845-658-2453 or at stonestepping2020@gmail.com.
