Anthony Campagiorni has been named the new president of Central Hudson Electric Transmission (CHET), a subsidiary of Central Hudson, the company announced today. Campagiorni has been with Central Hudson since 2009 and began in his new position on August 1, 2024.

In his new role, Campagiorni will be responsible for overseeing Central Hudson’s investment in New York Transco, which is the state’s electric transmission solutions and facilities developer, owner and operator.

“I believe Anthony’s experience in regulatory and government affairs makes him uniquely qualified to take on this position.,” said Stephanie Raymond, President and CEO of Central Hudson. “Transco is playing a growing and critical role in New York’s transition to a cleaner, greener energy system and we are excited for Anthony to continue leveraging his experience and capabilities in this new role.”

Campagiorni has held a number of other positions with Central Hudson, including senior vice president of customer services and corporate communications. Campagiorni is Chairman of the Dutchess County Economic Development Advisory Group and an Executive Board member of Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress.

This job change comes at a difficult time for the parent company. Last year, Central Hudson was rated by J. D. Power as the most unpopular electric utility company in the state. It has been navigating the fallout of a billing mishap that cost them more than $65 million in fines, and controversial rate hikes that have customers and politicians protesting the company. Kingston Assemblymember Sarahana Shrestha and State Senator Michelle Hinchey even put forth a bill that would allow the state to take over and run the company.
