Meet the 2026 inductees for Ellenville's Athletic Hall of Fame, just announced on Monday. Four outstanding athletes received the honor from ECSD and will be formally inducted this fall.

First up is Raynard Shorter, the all-time leading scorer in Ellenville basketball history. He graduated in 1988, and was named the Mid-Hudson Athletic League (MHAL) Player of the Year as a senior. He was chosen as Player of the Year by the Daily Freeman as well.

Joining Shorter is Tyler O'Bryant, a 2012 graduate who made waves on the track and field team. He was a New York State Division 2 champion in the 200-meter dash in 2011, and the following year, he won the NYS divisional championship in the 100-meter dash. He also qualified for Nationals in the 60-meter dash.

Fellow runner Kelly Mansell is next on the inductee list. She graduated in 1996 with a total of eleven Section IX Class C championships and eight MHAL championships under her belt. She went on to compete at Bowling Green State University as Ellenville's first female athlete to receive a Division I Athletic Scholarship.

And finally, ECSD recognizes Pasquale Lamaestra, who graduated in 1971. As a multi-sport athlete, he was the first in Ellenville history to receive 12 varsity letters and the first Ellenville wrestler to earn the Section IX Most Valuable Wrestler title. After high school, he served 30 years in the US Marine Corps, where he coached many military athletic teams.

These four stand-outs will be inducted into the Ellenville Athletic Hall of Fame in a special ceremony on Saturday, October 17, at 11 a.m. in the Ellenville Elementary School cafeteria (28 Maple Ave, Ellenville). For more information, call the school's athletic office at 845-647-0134.
