If when a child is young we teach them how to take care of their skin, their mind, and their insides like the way we tell the middle aged (and I hate that word, as it limits our life to a hundred if that), and then did testing to see if they are eating the right food, test them for diabetes when they are young, test them for colon cancer or those issues — that way they have their whole lives to eat correctly and not waste time on the inside of the store and eat more from the perimeter. I think it is kind of funny that children are advised against eating the whites of eggs but the middle aged should not eat the yellow because of cholesterol. So just don't eat the egg period! If when you were young people actually took you seriously and listened to this incredible wisdom and the questions that come pouring out of the mouths of babes, then wouldn't our world be wiser?

What if during all this time as a child school was basically open to all the arts and especially the body arts like reiki, massage, floating and gymnastics and ballet and dancing… what if that was public school? What if we just kept this going, so no matter your age you could do a cartwheel or teach your grandchildren to do the splits. By the time you are older, you have all this time devoted to playing. As we get older this is what our minds need — to play in the garden, to be free to jump, to sing and be silly. And I mean that is what happens to so many elderly, right? They begin to act like what we think of children but there isn't any space for the elderly to be silly, and in the same respect, there seems no space to listen to the seriousness of the children.

My oldest and I were talking as we had to fill out a form for his college. The form is so bizarre as most online forms are, and time intensive. We both agreed — him going into his adult years and me going into my senior years. I said I wouldn't want to do high school over, except kindergarten, and he said he would not mind going back as well. Where is the play for us weary adults? When do we listen to our children? When do we teach them to love themselves by listening and making stronger mind-to-body connections? When do we know it is time for the adults to play and playing is teaching in the cycle of life that is correct... and loving your body and knowing what you should be doing to it way before it becomes too late.
